Dr. Amy Vlachakis is ready to provide you and your family with outstanding care to protect your dental health and enhance your smile. She strives to make every office visit pleasant and comfortable, offering personalized service, state-of-the-art technology, and effective sedation options. Dr. Vlachakis also enjoys treating children. She knows how to help them feel comfortable in the office, and she is committed to teaching kids about the importance of good dental hygiene.
At Healthy Smiles Family Dentistry, we believe that ongoing dental care is the best way to protect and enhance your smile. Dr. Vlachakis encourages patients of all ages to schedule biannual dental visits. During these appointments, she will thoroughly clean your teeth and provide a complete oral exam using the latest imaging technology, such as digital x-rays and our intraoral camera. Thanks to these check-ups, she can easily detect the early signs of decay, as well as serious health conditions such as oral cancer.
Dr. Vlachakis understands that there is a strong connection between your oral and physical well-being, and she provides effective headache treatment using the drug-free TruDenta® system. This unique treatment method is designed to restore alignment to your bite, jaw, neck, and head. Dr. Vlachakis will perform a thorough diagnostic exam and create a treatment plan, combining at-home and in-office care. She is proud to be one of only 300 dentists in the country offering this revolutionary therapeutic method.
We encourage you to bring your child for his or her first visit around age 2. Dr. Vlachakis will provide a thorough oral exam, and if your child is ready, she may also provide the first dental cleaning. After this first visit, you should schedule biannual visits for your little one. We will carefully monitor their oral health and dental development. We typically begin taking digital x-rays around age 4, and we provide fluoride treatments and sealants to protect their dental health for years to come.
Dental anxiety is a common condition for both adults and children. If your apprehension has kept you from obtaining the treatment you need, sedation dentistry may be the answer you’ve been waiting for. We offer both nitrous oxide and oral sedation to help you feel comfortable and relaxed in our office. At your first appointment, Dr. Vlachakis will explain both options and help you choose the one that is most suited to your anxiety levels and dental needs.
